Introduction
Jiagenba is a tranquil Tibetan town in Kangding, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan, known as the homeland of Muya culture. Located at the foot of Mount Gongga, about 40 minutes’ drive from Xinduqiao, it sits at an altitude of roughly 3300 meters. This unspoiled highland paradise features barley terraces, meadows, crystal streams, ancient stone watchtowers and Yalonggou travertine beaches. Visitors can enjoy unobstructed views of the Gongga mountain range, and it is a fantastic spot to capture the golden sunrise glow on snow peaks. There are Tiwu Village, Pengbuxi ancient towers and Zesangla Sky Garden for sightseeing. With fewer crowds and less commercial development, it is ideal for hiking, photography and experiencing authentic Tibetan village life. Travellers should watch out for altitude sickness and prepare warm clothes due to the large temperature difference between day and night.
