1. What is the 240-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy?
This policy allows citizens from eligible countries to enter China without a visa, stay for up to 10 days (240 hours), and travel freely within 24 designated provinces and regions, provided they hold a confirmed connecting ticket to a third country or region .
2. Which Nationalities are Eligible?
Currently, the policy covers 57 countries, including:
- Europe (40): United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, etc.
- Americas (6): United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile
- Oceania (2): Australia, New Zealand

3. What Do You Need?
- A passport valid for at least 3 months.
- A confirmed on-ward ticket with a departure date within 240 hours to a third country/region.
- Complete the temporary entry card at the border and cooperate with border inspection officers.
4. Where Can You Go?
Entry is allowed through 65 designated ports (such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu) across 24 provinces. Once inside, you are free to travel within these designated areas without additional visas.
