Shibati
Introduction

Introduction
Shibati Traditional Style Area is a famous historic block in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, close to Jiefangbei. It is the key zone connecting the upper half city and lower half city of old Chongqing, with a history of over 800 years. The name comes from eighteen stone steps that local residents once used to fetch water. The area retains Bayu stilt houses, grey tile courtyards, ancient wells and old alleys. Visitors can wander along layered stone stairways, taste local snacks, watch intangible cultural heritage performances and browse cultural & creative shops. At night, lanterns are lit up, forming a stunning contrast between ancient Bayu architecture and surrounding modern skyscrapers. It is a perfect spot to feel the 3D mountain city culture, often arranged together with Mountain City Trail and Hongyadong. Wear comfortable walking shoes due to countless stone steps.
